Air India to hire 1000+ pilots after ordering 470 aircraft

Air India to hire 1000+ pilots after ordering 470 aircraft:

As the Tata Group-owned airline grows its fleet and network, more than 1,000 pilots, including captains and trainees, will be hired.

The airline, which presently employs over 1,800 pilots, has made orders with Boeing and Airbus for 470 aircraft, including wide-body aircraft.

The most recent solid order from Airbus includes 40 A350-900/1000 and 210 A320/321 Neo/XLR. 20 787s, 10 777s, and 190 737-Max aircraft are included in the firm Boeing deal.

Over 1,000 Pilots Will Be Hired By Air India in a Massive Drive After Ordering 470 Aircraft
More than 1,800 pilots work for Air India, which has ordered 470 planes from Boeing and Airbus.

“We are offering multiple opportunities and accelerated growth across our A320, B777, B787 and B737 fleet for captains and first officers, as well as trainers,” it said, adding that more than 500 aircraft are joining its fleet.

Meanwhile, pilots of Air India have raised concerns about the airline’s latest decision to revamp their salary structure and service conditions.

Air India to hire 1000+ pilots after ordering 470 aircraft: On April 17, Air India rolled out a revamped compensation structure for its pilots and cabin crew, which has since been rejected by the two pilot unions – Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) and Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) – on grounds that the airline, in alleged violation of labour practices, did not consult them before finalising the new contracts.

The process of hiring pilots typically involves several stages, including initial screening, assessment, and training. Candidates are evaluated based on their skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as their ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.

In addition to meeting basic requirements such as possessing a valid pilot’s license and having a certain number of flying hours, candidates may also be required to undergo medical and psychological evaluations to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the job.

Once selected, pilots may undergo further training to familiarize themselves with the specific aircraft they will be flying and to gain experience in different weather and flying conditions. They may also be required to complete regular refresher training to maintain their skills and keep up with new regulations and technologies.

Overall, hiring and training additional pilots is a significant undertaking for any airline, and it requires careful planning and execution to ensure the safety and efficiency of their operations.
